Choosing the right account
Your choice of trading account should align with your trading experience, goals and strategy. Here’s a quick guide to help you decide:
-
If you're a beginner or have limited trading experience, the Advantage account offers the tightest spreads and low commissions.
-
If you're an intermediate, experienced or professional trader who prefers not to pay commissions and still enjoy competitive spreads, the Advantage Plus account provides a balanced option.
-
If you're only looking to trade Stocks, then Advantage Stocks is the account for you!
The bottom line
FXTM’s Advantage and Advantage Plus accounts are almost identical in so far as they offer access to the same instruments with the same contract specifications. The crucial difference between the two comes down to the spreads and commission rates offered.
In our experience, newer traders are better off with a commission-based account and tighter spreads such as the Advantage account, while more experienced traders prefer to pay no commission and have slightly wider spreads, as offered with the Advantage Plus account.
Finally, Stock CFDs are available through both the Advantage and Advantage Plus accounts when running MetaTrader 5 as a trading platform, but if you want to trade Stocks for cash, then you’ll need access to the Advantage Stocks account.
